Who We Are

Shannon Mulkey is the co-founder of the Indie Craft Experience, the largest indie

craft event in the southeast, founded in 2005. By day she is an arts educator and

creative director, working with Covered Bridge Academy, SCAD ATL, and The High

Museum of Art. By night, she runs Patina, her small run clothing company using

mostly recycled materials and sustainable design practices.

Sarah Lodato eats, breathes, and sleeps do-it-yourself, spending her days blogging, sewing, and

going crazy over paper crafts.  She spares nothing when scanning curbside opportunities to

recover abandoned furniture and faithfully frequenting vintage and thrift stores for mid-century

modern treasures.  Always on the hunt for the next make + craft opportunity, she brings a love for

all things Atlanta and handmade to Stitch + Wire.

Beth Schechter

An ATL native, Beth was inspired to found Stitch + Wire in an effort to unite the city’s robust arts, crafts, and maker community, and to encourage the community to share its knowledge with a broader public. Now she’s taking an adventure to San Francisco to learn more about what’s being made out west (and who’s making it!), with hopes of promoting cross-country creative community building and knowledge sharing as well.
